Palma Day 2

Wow, what a tough day! We were scheduled for a 13:30 start time and we had to wait for the 49erFXs to get two races in before the course area we were assigned to would open up. The breeze this morning was light and out of the wrong direction so all fleets were held ashore. We didn’t end up starting our first race until 16:00. The wind was coming directly from the beach where we launch and it was puffy and shifty. It was a fighting day for us with poor first beats in both races.  We were just trying to have a high positive delta or to try to pass boats on every leg, which seems to be a big theme of the regatta so far. The second race, we rounded the top windward mark in third to last and made a massive comeback which was a big positive of the day. There is a lot of racing left in the regatta and we are just taking in everything we can from Mark Ivey, our coach here. Looking forward to racing hard tomorrow in a little more wind!

We would like to thank the sponsors and supporters of the US Sailing Team Sperry Top-Sider especially our title sponsor Sperry Top-Sider.
