Had the earlier start time this morning and only two races with less breeze forecasted. Since we are quite land locked here, forecasts aren’t always accurate. We were greeted with 8-15 knots which was substantially more than predicted which was good for the racing! We learned a lot from the first day of racing and put those lessons to use which seemed to work well for us. We didn’t have the best start the first race getting flushed out and ducking sterns towards the right side of the course. We were lifted on port which was a positive so it could always be worse. We hooked into nice pressure and were right back in it. The second race, we had a fantastic start port tacking the fleet right at the start which happens rarely in our fleet. There was a massive left shift within 30 seconds of our starting sequence and we were lucky enough to be near the pin.
We would like to thank the sponsors and supporters of the US Sailing Team Sperry especially our title sponsor Sperry and Sunbrella.
