Another tricky day in the books. We managed to stay alive and sit in second after a first rough race and a keeper. Today we were postponed again on shore for about an hour as the race committee waited for the wind to come up. More wind was forecasted later on in the day so it made sense for them to hold us on shore. The postponements are somewhat of a double-edged sword. On one hand you get better racing conditions yet on the other the race committee can start 45 min after the AP (postponement) flag goes down and that’s not a lot of time. Usually we like to launch an hour and a half early. That’s essentially cutting our pre race prep in half. When this happens, it’s a mad rush down the launch ramp to get on the water as fast as possible. It ended up taking an hour or so for the bigger breeze forecasted to come in, but once it did it was just pristine sailing! We missed a shift in the first race which cost us 15 boats on the second upwind. Other than that mistake we are really enjoying being in Hyeres, France and looking forward to two more days of racing before the medal race on Sunday!
