Another day on the outside course with big swell, decent wind and some side current. We survived the day with a trap wire breakdown in the second race which cost us two places. It was actually quite frustrating as we’ve had a lot of breakdowns recently, but this one was a little bit of bad luck. The side current made for a long port tack upwind. We didn’t get off the starting line as well as yesterday, but we were playing with the front group all day so that was a big positive. That and there was sunshine this morning on our motor boat ride over to the Rio side. Lighter air forecasted for tomorrow and again we are scheduled for the outside courses with three races.
We would like to thank the sponsors and supporters of the US Sailing Team Sperry Top-Sider especially our title sponsor Sperry Top-Sider.
