Another long day in La Rochelle waiting for the sea breeze to fill in. Today we waited on shore until 3pm and we’re sent out for two races hitting the dock around the same time as yesterday. Today, we tried a new race area, one of two possible race areas for the worlds. The coaches trade off with who does PRO and today Romain got to do the honors, and the racing was awesome! We saw 7-10 knots and surprisingly pretty stable breeze. The two races flew by and were pretty boring quite actually although we did have a huge speed discovery after the first race. There was strong current pushing everyone over the starting line so that made for some black flag starts. We finished the day off with a 2,3 and are super psyched for our US Sailing Team Sperry Top-Sider teammates Sydney and Carly for securing their first 470 race win! Tomorrow we will try to sail a bit earlier. The races are starting at 10:30am with the hopes of having a strong easterly before the sea breeze tries to fill.
