Today we did not sail the way we were hoping to, but the points are super close between all the boats for tomorrow’s medal races and we are still in podium contention! The first race, we were scored an OCS, which was not ideal. We tried to shake it off for the second race as we knew it would be an important one. We started in a pretty conservative spot on the line and half way up the beat, the breeze got lighter and extremely inconsistent. We were seeing thirty degree shifts with random pressure shots. It was very tricky sailing and we were lucky to have finished 13th. It was hard to see the pressure on the water and boats that were right next to each other were often in completely different wind. We did the best we could to hang in there mentally today and we are going to race hard for a medal tomorrow. The medal race format is the same as it was in Palma: two races, double points, no discard and a race win counts for zero points. Our start time is 12:20pm and then we will pack up our boat and head back home! It has been a long, but extremely productive first European trip and we are looking forward to seeing our family and friends back home!
